A collection of my work when employed by Wolters Kluwer UK

What I did

  • Interface design
  • Front-end development
  • Wireframes
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • User research
  • Prototyping
  • Accessibility
  • Content
  • QA

Between 2008 and 2014 I worked as the lead designer for Wolters Kluwer UK, a global leader in the Legal & Regulatory and Tax and Accounting industries. These are some of the featured projects I worked on.

AccountancyLive, leading online news platform for tax and accounting professionals, for whcih I provided an updated design based on the existing branding guidelines.

While at Wolters Kluwer UK I was responsible for the visual aspects of User Experience (UX) Design including user flows, storyboards, layout sketches, wireframes and interactive prototypes, adhering to a User-Centred Design approach.

Wolters Kluwer

Collaborating with key stakeholders and developers I was responsible for the design and front end build of all aspects of the Wolters Kluwer UK marketing website.

I was also responsible for all aspects of User Interface (UI) Design, from initial sketched concepts, hi-fidelity mock-ups, through to production HTML and CSS, with jQuery/JavaScript where required, deployed in conjunction with the development team in an Agile environment.

Croner

For over 80 years, Croner has provided award-winning HR, Employment Law, and Health & Safety services. Collaborating with key stakeholders and developers I was responsible for the design and front end build of all aspects of the Croner marketing website, which also acted as a portal to all Croner products.

I defined and provided stewardship of UK online branding guidelines as part of a three year global re-branding project for Wolters Kluwer.

Croner-i

Croner-i helps thousands of companies and accountancy firms comply with the law, achieve and maintain best practice, and create value. Collaborating with key stakeholders and developers I was responsible for the design and front end build of all aspects of the Croner-i product suite.

I suggested using responsive design to better accommodate all device types and created the first responsive site for Wolters Kluwer UK, the 2013 UK Budget support site.

A Responsive Budget

The CCH content awareness team needed a bespoke site to support the 2013 Budget, and subsequently the 2014 budget, providing insight and comment on the years announcements.

I suggested this site provided mobile support with a responsive design, a first for Wolters Kluwer in the UK.

I raised awareness within Wolters Kluwer at all levels regarding the benefits adopting a User-Centred Design approach.

Business Project Toolkit

Collaborating with Project Managers we created a tool to be used as a project management guide for managers who have limited project management experience. The site is broken into four key stages with each having a set of activities that could typically be followed as part of a small to medium sized project.

I was Awarded ‘Agile Brave Clear’ (2012) and ‘Most Outstanding Colleague’ (2007) awards for recognition of my work.

Croner Simplify

A simplified tool for organisations not big enough to have a dedoicated HR department, providing best practice Human Resources management. Collaborating with key stakeholders and developers I was responsible for the design and front end build of all aspects of Croner Simplify.

I created print work including magazine adverts, posters and display boards for promotional use.

CCH Online

The premium online research tool offered by Wolters Kluwer, used by 19 of the top 20 accounting firms in the UK. I was responsible for all aspects of the design and front-end development and the most significant update was making the system accommodate responsive design.

CCH

CCH is a provider of software and information services for tax, accounting and audit workers. This project was the re-design and information architecture update of the entire site performed in conjunction with the project business analyst, the CCH marketing department, the development team, and external communications agency Redhouse Lane.

CCH White Labelling

Having discussed with the CCH Sales Manager that there were issues with regard to 'key account' customers struggling to access their products, I suggested building bespoke landing pages, with key support contact information, that would offer a more personal feel, to both the client and their users. Clients with bespoke landing pages included HMRC, Rolls Royce, Lloyds Bank and BP.

CCH Conference

A website for CCH on behalf of Wolters Kluwer to promote The CCH UK Conference, held at The Grove Hotel, Hertforshire. The key aim of the site is to provide details of the Conference and allow registration for next years event. Existing CCH branding was not follwed to allow the design to be unique and identify this as a new event in the UK. Due to fantastic weather and a superb venue the event was an unqualified success.

CCH Fee Protection

A website to promote CCH's newly introduced Fee Protection services.

Accountancy Magazine, leading online news platform for tax and accounting professionals, for whcih I provided an updated design based on the existing branding guidelines.
