Croner-i reference service
About the project
Croner-i is a family of sophisticated online reference and resource subscriptions that help you manage compliance issues within your business.
As part of a limited budget project I was tasked with updating the visual design to bring the product in line with other services within the Croner portfolio to maintain brand consistency.
This was achieved with some minor development changes to accommodate stakeholder requirements for the homepage, the rest being done solely by changes to the CSS. In particular I focused on improving the typography and suggested that the site become fixed width as opposed to the previous fluid design. On a high resolution screen this lead to some particularly poor readability due to excessive line lengths, as a result of a particularly small font size.
The stakeholders were particularly impressed by the changes, that effectively came with minimal budget as the were deemed as Business As Usual updates.
As a result of this piece of work I was rewarded with a bronze award in the annual Wolters Kluwer Agile Brave Clear awards in 2012. It also enabled the business to acquire several new customers who thought the new design was a big improvement over the previous version.
